Pretty Coasters

I just finished making a set of coasters and candles. I gave all the candles away for Nurse's week at work. I am so happy with the way they turned out. I decorated the glass jars with rub-ons, that was a little harder than I remembered. I am now selling candles, so if anyone is interested...They are $6 for a 4oz, $12 for a 10oz and $20 for an 18oz candle.

I've come a long way.

I've been a busy beaver. Lots of crafting. More soy candles and more scrub hats equals more fun. My candles are turning out very well and I have found the right temperature for pouring the wax.
My scrub hats are coming out almost flawless, so I would like to think. ;). I might start making hats for people at work. They keep asking, but I haven't been ready, maybe now. until the next craft. luvs!

Free at last....

Well, I have nothing to post except that today is my first Friday off! (a scheduled Friday off) sometimes I get off of work early. Today I will enjoy the sunshine and clean my house....boring! but I'm not at work. I have been making a few scrub hats for work, but haven't taken any pictures. They are coming out really good! People at work always tell me how cute they are. It is kinda like being able to wear cute clothes while I am stuck in ugly blue scrubs. I just got 50lbs of soy wax, so if any one is interested in soy candles let me know. I am making a heap of them this weekend! So, yes, that is my plan for the weekend; making candles and going to Yosemite , Maybe, on Saturday.

Time for Work

Well, It is time for me to go back to work! I have been off of work for 9 months...OH my gosh. I work in the operating room (surgical Tech) and I have decided to try making my own hats. I have always worn the disposable caps, more comfy, but I saw a new style that I liked; so I thought I would give it a try. Also, wearing handmade caps cuts down on the waste of having to throw a disposable cap away every day.

This was my second one. I made it without a pattern, I think the next one will be even better!

My New Scarf

I had recieved a scoodie for christmas and LOVED it, but what about when you want to just wear a scarf, and no time for knitting or crocheting. Make a scarf out of fleece! It is so soft, easy to make, and very cute. Just use scrap material (or buy 1/4 scraps at the fabric store) and some fleece. I think my scarf is a total of 2 1/2 yards long. I want to make another one that will be brown, gold, and green colors. I hope you like it...I do!

Playing catch up.

Christmas was a great time for me to bring out the crafty girl that I can be... I think? When ever I go to visit my sister, (she's crafty) no seriously, She always has a new project and something fun that she is working on. This is where my story begins...My mom had made some coasters as my wedding shower gift for our guests, this turned into my sister making them for a craft fair(in the picture, but also a gift to me!) and then I made them for Christmas gifts. I also made Soy candles(with cotton wicks), knitted and crocheted a few scarfs and then made myself a scarf....Fabulous!
